Federal student loans are available to students after completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Federal student loans available are:
-
Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans
-
Federal Perkins Loans
-
Health Professions Loans (Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Only)
-
Graduate PLUS Loans (Graduate Students Only)
Federal Parent PLUS Loans are available to the parents of dependant students who have completed a FAFSA. This is a type of unsubsidized loan that a parent borrows in their name on behalf of their student.
Short Term Loans from the University are available for students with no current balance owed and in general good academic standing. Amounts range from $300 to $500 depending on class level and graduation status.
Alternative loans should only be considered after all federal loans have been exhausted. A FAFSA application can be completed throughout the academic year. These loans typically have higher, variable, interest rates and less flexible repayment terms compared to federal loans.
